Tennessee Volunteers Preview

The Volunteers just experienced their second loss of the season, which was at the hands of the Alabama Crimson Tide at 34-20. The Vols lost their 20-7 halftime lead and gave up 27 unanswered points in the second half. This was a huge missed opportunity, but now they must get back on track.

They have slid back to the fourth spot in the SEC East standings and have the same records with the Florida Gators and the Wildcats. This is a big chance to surpass them and inch closer to the top.

The Vols have done well on both sides of the ball, as they are averaging 31.6 points per game and have allowed 19.4 points from opponents. They are also averaging 438.1 total yards a game and give up 310.9 total yards. This is a good separation between those averages.

Quarterback Joe Milton III (12 TD, 4 INT) ranks 60th in the nation for his QBR at 61.9. He has also added 1,535 yards and is a key component to their success. Assuming he continues to complete over 62 percent of his passes, they have a great opportunity with him to win.

Kentucky Wildcats Preview

The Wildcats recently dropped out of the top-25 rankings after two consecutive defeats. Their most recent loss was a 38-21 outing against the Missouri Tigers, which ended with 18 points unanswered in the fourth quarter.

Their two losses have been ugly to say the least. The other was to the Georgia Bulldogs, the best team in the country. In these last two games, they have given up 44.5 points and scored just 17 on average.

With their record now the same as the Vols, it puts them in a tough spot to move up in the standings. However, they have done well in most scenarios since they average 38.0 points per game and allow 15.5. In addition, they average 351.9 total yards and give up 346.6 total yards.

QB Devin Leary (14 TD, 7 INT) has done well for this Wildcats squad this season. He currently ranks 90th in the league with a QBR of 51.1 and has had 1,377 yards. He must have a brilliant performance without any mistakes if they want to succeed.
