Detroit Lions Preview

The Lions have won their last two games and are 3-2 over their last five matchups. Their most recent successful encounter was a 30-24 showing over the Minnesota Vikings, where they were able to clinch their first division title since back in 1993.

The Lions are the only team in the NFC North with a winning record at the moment, as the second place Vikings are 7-8. They have a great opportunity to extend their dominance and to have great momentum heading into the playoffs.

They have the fifth best offense in the league averaging 27.5 points per game. Defensively, they rank 24th since they allow 23.7 points each game. At this rate, they do not have a huge margin for victory and will be put to the test against a tough Cowboys team.

Jared Goff (27 TD, 10 INT) has put together an impressive season for the Lions to help push them towards the playoffs. He has earned 3,984 total yards (third in league), a pass completion rate at 67.7, and a QBR of 59.6 that ranks 11th among other quarterbacks.

Dallas Cowboys Preview

The Cowboys have lost their last two games out of five total, making their push for the division lead much more difficult. Their recent defeat was a 22-20 outing against the Miami Dolphins, where the biggest difference in the game was a scoreless second quarter for the Cowboys. This is unusual for the Cowboys, as they are one of the best offensive teams in the league.

They are currently second in the NFC East and plenty of games ahead of the other division teams to make the playoffs. However, time is running out if they want to have a better position in the postseason.

The Cowboys rank second in the league with 30.1 points per game. On defense, they rank fifth in allowing 19.1 points per game. This is a great margin for victory and it could help them tremendously here.

Dak Prescott (30 TD, 7 INT) is also having a remarkable year under center. He has accumulated 3,892 total yards (fifth in league), completes his passes at a 68.4 percent rate, and ranks third in the league with a QBR of 71.5.
