Vanderbilt Commodores Preview

The Commodores started off their season with two wins, but have yet to land another. They are currently on a six-game losing skid, with a recent 37-20 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.

In all of their losses, they have given up 36 points or worse each game. Their offense has been competitive at times, but not enough to make an impact in a few scenarios. They are currently seventh in the SEC East and have a handful of games left to add some positives to their season.

On offense, they are averaging 33.4 points per game, but they allow 32.4 on defense. While this margin is not that far, it is slightly misleading since their two wins were their only time at separating from other teams at a good rate. They also contribute 349.0 total yards each game, but give up 437.5.

Quarterback Ken Seals (8TD, 2 INT) earns the start once again after AJ Swann (11TD, 7 INT) has had issues throwing the ball away in big games. Seals has completed 61.9 percent of his passes and done well at minimizing turnovers.

Ole Miss Rebels Preview

The Rebels aim to add onto their three-game win streak. Their most recent success was a 28-21 outing over the Auburn Tigers. The Rebels were able to pull away in the fourth and had a comfortable lead despite the Tigers adding some points.

In their three wins recently, they have averaged 36.6 points per game and have allowed teams to 30.0. This is not a huge margin of safety, as intense SEC play has been competitive. Despite their strong performances, they are third in the SEC West.

They have been explosive on offense this year, as they average 39.7 points per game. They have also done a good job at limiting teams to 23.4 points per game, which should come into play for this matchup. They also average 480.1 total yards and allow 372.1.

The Rebels success on offense is thriving at the hands of QB Jaxson Dart (13 TD, 3 INT), who has 1,840 yards. He also ranks 13th in the nation with his QBR at 81.2. His best performance this season was against LSU a few games back, where he threw four touchdowns in a 55-49 win without turning the ball over.
