Texas A&M Aggies Preview
The Aggies recently had their three-game win streak snapped against the Alabama Crimson Tide, in a close 26-20 showdown. They had a 17-10 lead at halftime against one of the best teams in the country, but failed to produce any offense in the third quarter that arguably led to their demise.
They excelled on both offense and defense, yet encountered challenges when it comes to sealing the deal in games. Their average total yards are 420.5, with 275.7 of those gained through passing plays. Their defense is robust, permitting just 268.8 total yards, of which 184.8 are attributed to passing plays.
Quarterback Conner Weigman has been impressive this year, as he ranks fifth in QBR with a 87.7. So far, he has put up 979 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions. His success will ultimately dictate how far they will go this year.
Their offense has been thriving, as they put up 35.5 points per game. They allow 19.8, which is solid, but will be tested against the Crimson Tide and their ability to put points on the board.
Tennessee Volunteers Preview
The Volunteers had a satisfactory 41-20 win against the South Carolina Gamecocks. They were able to score at least seven or more points per quarter, which propelled them to victory.
Their offense has done well since their loss to the Florida Gators, as they average 466.2 total yards and have a balanced attack from passing and rushing. On defense, the Vols could do a better job at slowing teams down since they allow 308.2, with 192.8 coming from passing plays.
QB Joe Milton III will get a good test here, as he ranks 75th in the nation with his QBR at 56.1. He has compiled 1,164 yards, has nine touchdowns, and three interceptions. Limiting his turnovers will be key here to the Vols success.
The Vols have put up nearly twice the amount of points ahead of their competitors, as they average 36.2 points per game and give up 17.8. This will be one of the biggest games of the season and a test that they cannot afford to fail.
