South Carolina Gamecocks Preview
The Gamecocks are currently on a three-game losing streak and need to break the cycle soon. Their most recent defeat was a 34-12 embarrassment against the Missouri Tigers. This game nearly ended much worse, as the score was already 24-3 at the half before the Gamecocks added some offense in the final two quarters.
They have stumbled down to the sixth spot in the SEC East. In their three recent losses, they have scored 23.6 points and have allowed 58.0. Acquiring a win against a respectable team here would greatly benefit their prospects of having a good season.
Their issues on both sides of the ball have been noticeable, as they average 26.6 points per game and allow their opponents to average 31.7. Their total yards per game is also not appealing, as they average 392.4 but give up 446.7. They have to be more aggressive defensively in order to keep games close.
Quarterback Spencer Rattler (11 TD, 5 INT) has done well with what he has around him and the team’s inconsistencies. He has 1,941 yards and a QBR of 72.5 that ranks 26th in the nation. He will need to have a perfect game in order for their offense to thrive.
Texas A&M Aggies Preview
The Aggies had some time off after their recent defeat, which was a 20-13 battle with the Tennessee Volunteers. Now that they are back in action, they are attempting to break their current two-game skid.
Their other defeat was against the Alabama Crimson Tide. In their last two games, they have averaged 16.5 points per game and have allowed 23.0. This is not bad against two quality programs in the SEC, but it is still not a win.
They are now fourth in the SEC West and are several games back from the top. So far, they have averaged 32.3 points per game and have given up 19.9 points from opposing teams. Their total yards also thrive on both sides of the ball, as they average 400.0 each game and slow teams to 277.9 per game.
QB Conner Weigman is still out due to a foot injury, so the Aggies must rely on Max Johnson (7 TD, 4 INT). His QBR of 59.2 ranks 67th nationally and was a previous starter on this team last year but suffered a hand injury.
