Pittsburgh Steelers Preview

The Steelers are on a roll after winning their second straight preseason game, a 27-15 victory against the Buffalo Bills. They have clicked offensively, especially since they had scored 27 unanswered points going into the fourth quarter, indicating they will likely do it again here.

They have averaged 317 yards each game and 210.5 yards from passing. Just a year ago, they were one of the worst teams in passing. Their defense, however, has been shaky since they are allowing 340 total yards, and 271 are coming from passing.

The Steelers will be playing with their starters on offense for this game. This is a similar unit that has scored 27 points each time they have played and will likely be aggressive from the start.

They also allow 16 points a game, as double digits have decided each game. The younger lineup Mike Tomlin has put out there has looked great against teams struggling to place their starters.

Atlanta Falcons Preview

The Falcons were looking to improve after their 19-3 thrashing over the Miami Dolphins in week one but finished with a 13-13 tie with the Cincinnati Bengal in week two. They still looked great on paper, as quarterback Desmond Ridder went 7-9 in his passes for 80 yards.

Looking at their offense, they have slightly done better than the Steelers at 332 total yards a game, and 223 are for passing. They also do a better job defensively, allowing 321 total yards and 195.5 from passing.

The Falcons have done a great job on defense, but they are still working through their offense. They have averaged 16 points a game and allowed eight, making them a threat against teams with offense issues.

They will likely use the same starters they have been, which shows that their offense could suffer if the Steelers can defend well. If not, this could be a scoring outburst for both teams.
