No huge upsets last week, which means the few people remaining in their Survivor Pools managed to stay alive another week. Let’s get straight to the picks.
Eagles over Texans
If you still need to use your Eagles’ pick this year, now is the time to do it. This is the best guarantee of the week. Davis Mills and the Texans have struggled to put points on the board all season, and the likelihood of Houston scoring in the double-digits in this contest is slim. It is a short week, and there is always a chance that crazy circumstances can play a part in Thursday night football. Still, even if Houston manages to cover the point spread, it would be wholly improbable the Texans pull off an upset. Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, and the rest of the Eagles’ offense should have no issue putting this game to bed early.
Bills over Jets
Here is another case if you have yet to select the Bills, this is a great week to do so. Without rookie RB Breece Hall, the Jets’ offense is subpar behind second-year QB Zach Wilson. Since his return from injury, Wilson has been disappointing on the field. Last Sunday, the former BYU standout tossed three costly interceptions and failed to complete 50 percent of his passes. Now, he has to go up against the best defense in the NFL? The Bills are a lock.
Dolphins over Bears
Tua is back and has proven why his name should be inserted into the MVP race since his return. Last Sunday against the Lions, Tua threw for 382 yards and three TDs. His chemistry with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle is impeccable, allowing Miami to score at will. Opposing a Bears team that has struggled all season to score consistently should bode well for Miami as they are looking to get back in the playoff race. Soldier Field may be a tough venue to play in, but the Dolphins win this one.
Chiefs over Titans
There’s yet to be a word if we will see Ryan Tannehill or Malik Willis starting for the Titans, but it won’t matter much in this contest. Head coach Andy Reid is lethal coming off a bye week, and he should have his team ready to pounce on an overperforming Titans squad. Tennessee has the luxury of playing in the worst division in the AFC, but they will collapse against the Chiefs this week. You can be sure Kansas City hasn’t forgotten when the Titans embarrassed them last season 27-3. This is a revenge game for the Chiefs as well.
Bengals over Panthers
The Bengals will be eager to forget their awful showing against the Browns. Fortunately, they will oppose the Panthers at home in Week 8. Since trading Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers have been a nice story, upsetting the Buccaneers and nearly defeating the Falcons. However, this Bengals team has the motivational edge following losing to the Browns on primetime. Even without WR Ja’Marr Chase, Joe Burrow has plenty of weapons with Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and Hayden Hurst. The Bengals should win this game by double-digits.
