QBs:

  1. Justin Fields, CHI
  2. Matthew Stafford, LAR

Is Justin Fields legit? This past week I labeled him as a “start” on the Nothing But Locks podcast, and Ally almost didn’t believe me… I was even surprised when Fields broke the single game rushing record for a QB with 178 yards against the Dolphins on Sunday. I think Fields and the Bears are turning a corner. He is no longer a bootleg Murray/Hurts but rather an emerging fantasy asset. I would look to start him in good matchups the rest of the season.

Matthew Stafford…. My gosh, the Rams looked bad. Brady vs Stafford last year was an amazing contest. Only 9 weeks into 2022 and these are the two most depressing teams of the year.

Anyways, Stafford is a good player with a good head on his shoulders. He hasn’t always won throughout his career, and needs to pick it up if the Rams are to make the playoffs. I think he will do so, especially given the weak schedule of defenses for the Rams during the remainder of 2022.

RBs:

  1. Khalil Herbert, CHI
  2. Jeff Wilson Jr., MIA

Herbert is likely a well-known name at this point in the season, as he has played well when David Montgomery has been hurt. He put up a bit of a dud last weekend against Miami, but he is splitting time with Montgomery and has the ability to turn any play into a big one. He isn’t a starter every week, but he is in good matchups and when Montgomery misses time.

Wilson Jr. played extremely well in his debut with Miami, and he is exactly what this offense needs. He is a solid pass-catcher and a fast runner, fitting in well with the overall tempo of the Miami offense. If he sees solid touches next week, he could really become valuable at seasons’ end.

WRs:

  1. Joshua Palmer, LAC
  2. Garret Wilson, NYJ

Joshua Palmer has extremely high fantasy value when both Mike Williams and Keenan Allen are out. This became even more evident this past weekend against the Falcons, as Palmer tallied 8 catches for 106 yards. He is a solid start moving forward, as Kennan Allen may not play the rest of the season.

Wilson is an interesting prospect and is seeing a ton of targets on a surprisingly good Jets offense. Zach Wilson still is not targeting Elijah Moore, giving the other Wilson an opportunity to shine. I would be comfortable starting Wilson in deep leagues and in good matchups moving forward.

TEs:

  1. Robert Tonyan, GB
  2. Evan Engram, JAX

Tonyan is on this list every week, and does not need an explanation. He is doing OK and will do better as the season goes on.

Engram is putting together a surprisingly good year, albeit with a poor showing last weekend vs. the Raiders. He is a solid option and is pretty matchup independent. Expect a 4/40/0 statline – nothing too special, but a solid weekly output from the TE spot.
