The Giants just recorded their largest comeback in franchise history, as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 31-28. They were down as many as 21 points and scored 17 unanswered in the fourth quarter alone.
This game gave their stats a bump, as now they average a total of 333 yards with 215.5 of those coming from passing. On defense, they allow 322 total yards, with their opponents mainly using 185.5 from passing plays. This does offer much breathing room to work with.
The Giants have not been the most appealing team to start this season. In week one, the Dallas Cowboys blew them out 40-0 and almost lost their recent matchup against the Cardinals. They will be without their star running back Saquon Barkley, who has a minor ankle injury that he suffered from practice earlier in the week.
At this rate, they are averaging 15.5 points per game and allowing 34. This ratio cannot continue to happen if they want to be successful.
San Francisco 49ers Preview
The 49ers were able to force two turnovers late in their matchup against the Los Angeles Rams to come out ahead 30-23. They consistently scored each quarter, which also helped their chances at winning.
They have put up an average total of 386.5 yards a game, with 213 coming from passes. They also allow 334.5 total yards on defense, with 269.5 coming from passing plays.
This is slightly better to work with in comparison to the Giants. They are off to a great start, as they rank third in the league for both points scored and allowed each game.
The 49ers aim to continue their undefeated streak to kick start their season. Their most recent game was a bit more competitive compared to their week one defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers, 30-7.
They are averaging 30 points per game and allowing 15. This is a solid separation between the two scoring averages and it could play a role for this matchup.
