New Orleans Saints Preview
The Saints have improved to .500 with two consecutive wins and have gone 2-3 overall in the last five. Their most recent triumph was a 24-6 performance over the New York Giants and their second straight game holding an opponent to just six points.
They are currently tied for first in the NFC South, but only a game ahead of the third place Atlanta Falcons. They will need to win here if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive.
The Saints have quality performances on both sides of the football. They are averaging 22.1 points per game and rank 12th in the league. Defensively, they are allowing opponents to average 19.1 points per game and rank sixth for this effort.
Derek Carr (16 TD, 7 INT) has put up 3,098 total yards this season. He also has a 67.4 percent pass completion rate and has a QBR of 49.9, ranking him 21st among other quarterbacks in the league.
Los Angeles Rams Preview
The Rams have gone 4-1 in their previous five matchups and have great momentum. In their recent battle, they defeated the Washington Commanders 28-20, as they were up by as many as 20 points. This added a spark to their playoff hopes.
They are currently tied for second in the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks. This will be a tight race moving forward, as they will be unable to catch the first place San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams’ offense has done well with averaging 23.4 points per game, ranking ninth in that regard. As for their defense, they are limiting opponents to 22.1 points per game and ranking 19th. This does not allow a lot of breathing room for errors.
Matthew Stafford (21 TD, 9 INT) has established 3,320 total yards this season and ranks 10th in the league for the amount of touchdowns accumulated. He has also completed 61.4 percent of his passes and has a QBR of 62.8 that ranks seventh in the league. This should be a good test to see if he can outperform Carr who has similar numbers.
