New Orleans Saints Preview

The Saints are coming off of a 31-24 defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking their second-straight defeat. They were eventually able to tie the game at 24 in the fourth quarter, but were unable to gain the lead.

Their two straight losses has them pushed back to third in the NFC South. While they likely will not be in last place (Carolina Panthers are 0-6), they still need to aim for first since this is a weaker division and up for grabs.

Their point totals have been solid, but it could still use some work. They are getting up 19.0 points per game and have allowed opponents to average 18.1. They also have a solid differential on total yards, as they earn 344.7 and give up 299.3.

Their success on offense rests on the shoulders of Derek Carr (6 TD, 4 INT) to get the ball where it needs to be. He ranks 19th in the league with a QBR of 48.1 and has put up a total of 1,600 yards.

Indianapolis Colts Preview

The Colts nearly had a tough win against the Cleveland Browns, which ended 39-38. After a back and forth game and having a small 38-33 lead in the fourth quarter, they were not able to hold onto it. This is now their second consecutive loss.

They are now third in the AFC South and have a good opportunity to move up quickly in the division. They must find success here, or risk moving back further and potentially out of playoff reach.

Their offense has been great at 25.4 points a game and they average 376.0 total yards. However, their defense has had issues with allowing 27.3 points a game and 372.1 total yards. Closing out games with better defense is going to be key.

QB Gardner Minshew (5 TD, 4 INT) has done a good job in this offense and to keep the Colts moving down field. He has 1,187 yards so far and a QBR of 61.3 that ranks 11th in the league. Assuming he stays at a good rate offensively, they should have a quality opportunity to win.
