New Orleans Saints Preview

The Saints recently obliterated the New England Patriots 34-0 on the road last weekend. Having possession of the ball for nearly 40 minutes and forcing three turnovers was key to making sure the Patriots did not have a chance to make an impact.

They were in desperate need of a breakthrough performance, especially after suffering consecutive losses to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers, during which they managed to score just 26 points in total. Has their offense finally found a way to score the ball?

Currently, they occupy the second spot in the NFC South and maintain an average of 19.2 points per game. Their defense has been solid, allowing only 15.2 points on average, which has helped them stay competitive in most of their matchups. If their offense can find its rhythm, this team will transform entirely.

Derek Carr (4 TD, 2 INT) has been a consistent presence for their offense, displaying composure in several tightly contested games this season. His QBR currently stands at 49.1, ranking 17th in the league. A victory in this game could potentially improve his ranking.

Houston Texans Preview

The Texans had their two-game win streak snapped in their loss against the Atlanta Falcons. They had an opportunity to win, but gave up 14 points in the fourth quarter alone to end the game 21-19.

Their recent two wins were exciting offensive battles, as they scored 30 or more points against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars. So far this season, they have only won games when they are able to score 30 or more points. QB C.J. Stroud (7 TD, 0 INT) has been great, especially with his QBR of 56.2 (14th in league).

The Texans have currently secured the third position in the AFC South. They already have a win over the Jaguars, which should bode well for their chances later in the year to take over the division.

They have maintained an average of 23.0 points per game, and their defense has permitted 20.0 points per contest. Their ability to win is evident if their offense can excel, but they also need to slow down teams on defense.
