New Jersey Devils Preview

The Devils come into this matchup with solid momentum, as they just snapped a two-game losing streak with their recent win. This victory was a 3-1 showing over the Seattle Kraken, where they took an aggressive 37 shots to come away with the win.

Jesper Bratt, with 55 points and 35 assists, along with Tyler Toffoli and his 22 goals, form a formidable offensive duo for the Devils that presents a threat to the Predators. If they can set the tone early, they have a great shot at helping their team win.

The Devils boast an average of 3.37 goals and 31.4 shots per game. They have a solid power play percentage at 24.0, as they have scored 37 goals and have allowed 32.

Defensively, they allow an average of 3.47 goals and 29.9 shots per game. Compared to their offense, this does not bode well for their chances at success since they give up too many goals to opponents. They also display some strength defending with a 79.9 penalty kill percentage.

Nashville Predators Preview

The Predators had a tough stretch of games over their last five battles, going 2-3 and recently snapping a three-game losing streak. They are coming off of a 5-4 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild, in which Ryan McDonagh scored the winning goal in overtime.

Filip Forsberg leads the team’s offense with 53 points and 25 goals total, while Roman Josi enhances their puck movement with 36 assists accumulated. Success for the team hinges on dominant performances from both players.

On average, the Predators score 3.00 goals and attempt 31.0 shots per game. Despite their solid offensive stats, their power play lags behind, boasting a 19.1 percentage with 35 goals scored and 40 allowed.

Defensively, they are allowing their opponents to average 3.15 goals and take 30.0 shots per game, resulting in a slightly negative margin compared to their offense. Additionally, their penalty kill percentage of 75.9 is a tad lower than the Devils’ and could have an impact negatively.
