Nashville Predators Preview

The Predators are riding a two-game losing streak as they prepare for this matchup. They recently came up short in a 4-1 outing against the Florida Panthers. This marked their second loss in five games where they gave up at least four goals.

Filip Forsberg must take charge early in this game and build on his 49 points and 22 goals this season. Roman Josi should also make an impact, especially since he has 31 assists thus far on the season.

The Predators are scoring 3.02 goals a game while taking 30.8 shots to make it happen. Their power play scenarios have not been the worst, as they have scored 33 goals and have allowed opposing teams to land 34.

On defense, they have given up 3.11 goals on average to opposing teams, who also shoot the puck 30.3 times a game. Their defense also features a penalty kill percentage at 77.5, which is slightly more appealing than the Wild’s.

Minnesota Wild Preview

The Wild have been successful in four out of their last five matchups and are currently riding a three-game win streak. Their latest victory was a 5-3 showing over the Washington Capitals, which also marked their fourth consecutive win with five goals or more scored alone by the Wild.

Bettors need to keep an eye on Kirill Kaprizov who currently leads with 42 points. Contributions from Joel Eriksson Ek will also be key, especially since her leads with 20 goals scored so far.

The Wild also have a stagnant offense like the Predators, as they scored 3.02 goals and take 30.0 shots a game. Their power play performances, however, have been much less appealing with 32 goals scored and 44 power play goals allowed. This effort resulted in a power play percentage at 20.5.

Defensively, they are allowing slightly worse than the Predators with 3.36 goals and 30.7 shot attempts from opposing teams each game. Their penalty kill percentage of 72.8 could also make an impact here as well, which might hurt them in comparison to the Predators.
