Plenty of great options are available with MLB betting in Tennessee, as the start of the three-game series between the Colorado Rockies (44-67) and Milwaukee Brewers (60-53) is coming up soon. Will the Rockies continue to dominate in this head-to-head matchup?
When: Game 1 on August 7, 2023 at 8:10 PM ET
Where: American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Colorado Rockies Preview
The Rockies are 20.5 games behind in the NL West from the leading Los Angeles Dodgers, with no chance of making playoffs this year. They have gone 2-3 over their most recent five games, which includes mixed results against the St. Louis Cardinals and San Diego Padres. Peter Lambert is their starter on the mound for game one and is 2-2 this year (ERA 5.07, WHIP 1.41).
Sporting a .253 batting average, they exhibit offensive capabilities, but there is still space for enhancement. While they perform adequately at the plate, their adversaries maintain an average of .281, which is likely what contributed to their current season’s struggles.
They showcase a solid effort for effectively reaching base with a .313 on-base percentage. But as they enter this series, their pitching falters with an ERA of 5.47, giving rise to a concern about their defense.
The Rockies have gone 4-6 over their last 10 games against solid competition. They are 19-37 on the road and 52-47 as the underdog with their run line.
Milwaukee Brewers Preview
The Brewers have to continue creating distance in the NL Central, as they have a slight 1.5 game lead over the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago Cubs. They have gone 2-3 over their previous five matchups, which included 2-2 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Freddy Peralta is their starting pitcher for game one, but is 7-8 this year (4.46 ERA, 1.25 WHIP).
While their performance at the plate is not as attractive as the Rockies, a .233 batting average, they make up for it on defense. They are allowing their opponents to bat .236, which is huge for slowing down their offense.
Boasting a respectable .312 on-base percentage, they showcase about the same as the Rockies. Their ERA stands at 4.04, which remains a point of contention against the Rockies.
The Brewers have gone 3-7 over their last 10 games at one of the worst times of the season. They are 31-26 at home and 20-37 as the favorite with their run line.
