The Minnesota Twins (65-60) and Milwaukee Brewers (68-57) offer an exciting betting opportunity for MLB betting in Tennessee in the start of their two-game series. Both teams need pivotal victories, as they attempt to stay on top of their respective divisions.

When: Game 1 on August 22, 2023 at 8:10 PM ET

Where: American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Minnesota Twins Sox Preview

The Twins are first in the AL Central by six games, but would like to create more distance. They have gone 3-2 against solid teams recently, which were against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Tigers. Bailey Ober will take the mound for game one and is 6-6 this year (3.40 ERA, 1.13 WHIP)

Their batting average of .239 is solid, but it would be better if they could create more space with offense. They do a decent job at limiting their opponents average at .237, but this is not a lot of room for error if either one of those are experienced on an off day.

Their on-base percentage is not terrible, but at least it is better than the Brewers at .318. Their pitching has shown to be slightly better on average than the Brewers, with an ERA of 3.89, which is crucial in this matchup.

The Twins have gone 5-5 in their previous 10 games, as they have typically won a game and then lost the next. They have not been that great on the road, as they are 29-34 and need to have a great offensive outburst to likely make a difference.

Milwaukee Brewers Preview

The Brewers are first in the NL Central by only 2.5 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs. They just had an excellent series against the Texas Rangers, scoring six runs or more in three straight victories against a top team. Wade Miley starts on the mound for game one and is 6-3 this season (3.05 ERA, 1.17 WHIP).

The offense they showcased against the Rangers needs to happen again, because a .234 batting average is not going to cut it here. Since they only allow .233 from their opponents, there is no room for any issues on either side of the field.

They appear slightly less on base in comparison to the Twins, with a percentage at .313. Their ERA is close enough that it might not affect them too much, as they average 3.97.

The Brewers have done well in their last 10 games, going 7-3 over against quality teams. They have been solid at home, with a record at 33-27.
