Tennessee bettors have plenty of exciting MLB games to look forward to. One notable matchup is the game two clash between the Los Angeles Angels (56-51) and Atlanta Braves (67-37) of their three-game series, presenting an excellent opportunity for baseball betting in Tennessee.

When: Game 2 on August 1, 2023 at 7:20 PM ET

Where: Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia

Los Angeles Angels Preview

The Angels are third in the AL West and are 4.5 games behind the Texas Rangers. They are 3-2 over their last five games, including two straight wins against the Toronto Blue Jays from their last series and Braves in game one. Patrick Sandoval is their starter on the mound, but is 6-7 this year (ERA 4.13, WHIP 1.41).

They show good signs on offense, such as their batting average of .257, which is not bad at the plate. They keep their opponents to a respectable average of .245, which would be better if it was lower since their offense is not too far away.

They do a solid job at getting on-base, with a percentage of .333. They have an ERA of 4.34, which needs some work if they want to be successful in their division.

The Angels have gone 7-3 over their last 10 games against good teams. They are 27-28 on the road and 30-18 as the underdog.

Atlanta Braves Preview

The Braves are leading in the NL East and are at least 11 games ahead of the next team in line, the Philadelphia Phillies. They have also gone 3-2 in their last five performances, winning three straight against the Milwaukee Brewers and are trying to avoid a two game losing skid here. Spencer Strider hopes to help turn things around on the mound and is 11-3 this year (3.73 ERA, 1.09 WHIP).

They have some good numbers this season, especially their differential in batting averages. They average .269 at the plate and allow .243, which shows they typically slow down their opponents and have good days too.

Since they do well at the plate, they typically get on base with an average of .338. Their ERA is also good, sitting at 3.87 and is a lot better than the Angels’.

The Braves have gone 6-4 over their last 10 games, with excellent offensive outbursts in their wins. They are 35-20 at home and are 44-48 as the favorite.
