Betting in Tennessee on some MLB games? Coming up in Wisconsin, the Cincinnati Reds (55-46) and Milwaukee Brewers (55-45) will begin a fierce divisional showdown to start a three-game series worth checking out. Can the Reds break the losing cycle against the Brewers?

When: Game 1 on July 24, 2023 at 8:10 PM ET

Where: American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Cincinnati Reds Preview

The Reds are currently on a five game winning streak heading into this matchup. Not just any wins, as they have defeated quality MLB teams such as the San Francisco Giants and three straight against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Graham Ashcraft takes the mound, but is 5-7 with an ERA of 5.77 and WHIP of 1.54.

They have some key stats to pay attention to, such as their batting average of .254 and how they allow their opponents to bat .260 at the plate. They show good offense, but they typically allow their foes to keep up with them.

They get on base fairly regularly, with an on-base percentage at .334. They try to capitalize on scoring opportunities with an ERA of 4.73, but that could be a lot better.

The Reds keep flirting with the lead in the NL Central with the Brewers. They are 5-5 over their last 10 games and are 27-20 on the road. They must use their hot streak as an advantage to overcome their woes on the field against the Brewers.

Milwaukee Brewers Preview

The Brewers have an 8-2 lead over all games against the Reds this season. They have some solid progression heading into game one of this series, going 3-2 against good teams (Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies). Colin Rea is expected to be on the mound and is 5-4 (4.64 ERA, 1.21 WHIP).

Their batting averages are a similar differential in comparison to the Reds, putting up .231 and allowing .235. While their offense is not as strong, their pitching might be able to save the day.

They are not as strong at getting on base, with an average of .310. But, they are slightly better with their ERA, sitting at 3.95 and show they at least capitalize on their scoring opportunities.

The Brewers have a great opportunity to extend their dominance over the Reds and increase their lead in the division. They are 7-3 in their last 10 games and are solid at home (27-23).
