Los Angeles Chargers Preview

The Chargers were able to break their two-game losing streak when they defeated the Chicago Bears 30-13. Quarterback Justin Herbert was excellent, as he threw three touchdowns and nearly had 300 yards.

Over their previous two losses, the Chargers scored just 17 points each game. Against the Bears, they were able to overcome their offensive hurdles and show what they can really do when they have possession of the ball a little longer. QB Herbert (13 TD, 4 INT) has 1,890 yards and a QBR of 69.5 that ranks him fourth in the league.

They are currently second in the AFC West and their offense has been a key component in their success. On offense, they rank ninth in the league with 24.9 points per game. They are averaging 380.6 total yards a game, which could use some improvement.

Defensively, they allow 24.0 points per game, which ranks 24th in the league. They also allow teams to average 414.1 total yards a game, which definitely needs to come down a bit if they want better opportunities to win.

New York Jets Preview

The Jets are on a three-game win streak as they approach this next opportunity. Their most recent win was a brutal 13-10 overtime outing over the New York Giants, where the offense struggled to find any rhythm all game.

They are currently second in the AFC East and need their offense to be more consistent if they want any chance at taking over the division. QB Zach Wilson (5 TD, 5 INT) has 1,337 yards and ranks 29th in the league with a QBR of 35.4. Their success relies heavily on his ability to get the offense going.

Their offense has struggled this year, ranking 26th in the league with 18.0 points per game. They are averaging 300.0 total yards a game. At this rate, they will have a difficult time in keeping up with good offensive teams.

On defense, however, they rank sixth in the league since they allow just 18.4 points per game. They are allowing opponents to also average 341.7 total yards a game. At such a slow rate on both sides of the field, it can turn games into similar situations like we just saw against the Giants.
