Kansas City Chiefs Preview
The Chiefs have excellent momentum entering this championship game, as they have won their last four matchups and two consecutive in the playoffs. Their most recent success was a 27-24 outing over the Buffalo Bills, which offered plenty of back and forth action.
Patrick Mahomes was precise with 17-23 completions, 215 total yards, and added two touchdowns. Travis Kelce was also highly efficient, with five receptions, 75 yards, and two touchdowns.
The Chiefs fall in the middle of the pack for their efforts offensively, as they rank 15th in the league for accumulating 21.8 points per game. On defense, they have excelled with allowing opponents to average 17.3 points per game, ranking second.
Mahomes (27 TD, 14 INT) comes in with 4,183 total yards and a pass completion rate of 67.2 in the regular season (62.5 in the postseason). He also ranks eighth overall for his QBR at 63.0.
Baltimore Ravens Preview
The Ravens looked great in their first playoff game, which was a 34-10 blowout over the Houston Texans. While they were tied at 10 at the half, their defense came alive in the second half of action and it allowed their offense to thrive.
Having the ball for nearly 38 minutes of the game usually leads to victory or at least plenty of opportunities to score. If the Ravens can grind their offense and get stops against the Chiefs, this will be a great chance for their success.
The Ravens have been impressive all season and a team that many do not want to play. Their offense ranks fourth, with 28.4 points per game. On the defensive end, they allow 16.5 points a game and rank first overall.
Lamar Jackson (24 TD, 7 INT) might not be as flashy as Mahomes, but he does not have to be in order to help them win. His efficiency has been great, as he completed 67.2 percent of his passes during the regular season and 72.7 in the postseason. He also has 3,678 total yards and ranks fourth for his QBR at 64.7.
