Indiana Pacers Preview
The Pacers have now evened this series and are seeking to seize the lead for the first time after an insane 121-89 victory over the Knicks at home in Game 4. This marked their second consecutive victory at home, but now must try for one on the road. During the regular season, the Pacers were unable to win on the road against the Knicks.
Tyrese Haliburton led the effort with 20 points, six rebounds, and five assists. TJ McConnell came off the bench and contributed 15 points and 10 assists, while Pascal Siakam added 14 points shooting seven-for-nine from the field. With this offensive performance on a consistent basis, they have the power to run away with this series.
Even more impressive was that the Pacers shot an impressive 56 percent from the field and were able to connect on 14 of 31 from deep. This control took off early and set the tone, as they handed the Knicks a 34-14 point differential in the first quarter.
They were up as many as 43 points before relaxing in the fourth quarter. Will they be able to repeat this performance or will the Knicks respond differently?
New York Knicks Preview
The Knicks must rejuvenate their offense after a horrendous performance in Game 4. Prior to that, Game 3 was a much more respectable matchup with a 111-106 defeat. In Game 4, Jalen Brunson struggled to find consistency with just 18 points and made six out of 17 shots from the field.
Alec Burks led the team with 20 points coming off the bench and Miles McBride gave them 16 points. With Brunson having issues offensively, they suffered. He will need an outstanding performance again to give them an edge.
Donte DiVincenzo also had issues with seven points on three of 13 shooting, while Josh Hart only had two points with one of six shooting. In other words, their offense has to find ways to get out of struggles.
Diving further into their offense struggles, they shot a dismal 33 percent from the field and connected on seven of their 37 attempts from beyond the arc. Their issues started off early, with just 14 points in a first quarter thoroughly handled by the Pacers.
