Houston Texans Preview

The Texans are returning to action after a 30-6 defeat to the New York Jets. C.J. Stroud left the game late with a concussion, with Davis Mills entering to play with five pass attempts. They are now 3-2 over their last five matchups.

They are currently tied for second in the AFC South and a few games ahead of the Titans. A win here would put them one steal ahead and make them playoff compatible if the regular season were to end after this matchup. However, they must take every game seriously as the Indianapolis Colts are also aiming to remain in second.

The Texans are averaging 22.1 points per game and rank 13th in the league. Their defense allows 21.5 points per game and ranks 16th in that regard. This razor-thin margin is going to be key here, especially if the Titans can slow the Texans down.

Mills could potentially earn the start for this game if Stroud is not cleared to play. He gained a lot of starter minutes last year, but has thrown 33 touchdowns and 25 interceptions since being drafted in 2021. He will need to be a dominant force if Stroud is unable to compete.

Tennessee Titans Preview

The Titans might be 2-3 in their last five games, but they recently defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-27 with a late rally from Will Levis to push them ahead for the win. Prior to that, they had a 31-28 overtime loss to the Colts.

They still have some work to do, as they are last in the AFC South. Earning wins now is the only thing they can do to keep any playoff hope alive.

The Titans are averaging 18.5 points a game and rank 25th in the league for that effort. However, they rank 17th in giving up 21.7 points per game to opposing teams, which results in a negative margin for points.

Levis (8 TD, 3 INT) showed his true colors against the Dolphins and is exactly the type of play the Titans are needing to push forward. He has 1,593 total yards, a pass completion rate of 58.3, and features a QBR of 37.1.
