Green Bay Packers Preview
The Packers have won their last three consecutive matchups and are 4-1 overall out of their last five. They recently defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 27-19, and had a 14-6 lead to start the second half.
They still have a legitimate shot to make the playoffs this year now that they are at .500. They are third in the NFC North and trail the Minnesota Vikings for second by a game. A win here would put pressure on the Vikings.
The Packers have shown many different colors for their offense and defense to paint an interesting picture. According to their season stats, they rank 17th in the league with 21.5 points per game and ninth overall on defense for 20.3 points allowed from opponents. If they can find ways to have a more dominant offensive unit, they will flourish come playoff time.
A lot of attention has been put on quarterback Jordan Love (22 TD, 10 INT) this season, who has steadily improved each game. He currently has 2,866 yards, a completion percentage at 61.3, and a QBR of 58.6 that ranks 12th among other starting quarterbacks.
New York Giants Preview
The Giants are currently on a two-game winning streak as they approach this matchup and 2-3 out of their last five. They recently defeated the New England Patriots 10-7, as one of the more boring matchups of the season with the Patriots quarterback situation.
The NFC East has essentially already been claimed by the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, who are both currently 10-3 in the standings. While the Giants are out of the picture for the playoffs, they can still build on their season in preparation for next year.
Their offense puts up 13.3 points a game, which ranks second to last in the league. For defense, they are giving up 24.3 points each game and rank 26th for that effort. This margin is not ideal to have against a team that is .500 and searching for a way into the playoffs.
They are currently on their third quarterback this season with Tommy Devito (7 TD, 3 INT) with their other quarterbacks hurt along the way. He is 2-2 so far since taking over, with a completion rate at 62.9 percent.
