Georgia Bulldogs Preview
The Bulldogs kept their undefeated season alive with a 37-20 victory over the Vanderbilt Commodores last weekend. After Vanderbilt scored the first touchdown in the game, the Bulldogs would score the next 27 points of the game before Vandy was back on the board in the fourth quarter.
They have been a monster on offense, producing 509.4 total yards a game (337.0 from passing). On defense, they have kept teams around 262.6 total yards (171.1 from passing). At this rate, teams will have a tough time trying to land a win against them.
It also helps that they utilize those yards into scoring opportunities. They average 40.1 points per game and allow teams to score just 14.0. This is a healthy margin that will be tough to stop.
Quarterback Carson Beck (12 TD, 4 INT) has been great at orchestrating their offense. He has 2,147 yards and ranks 14th in the nation with a QBR of 81.0. The Bulldogs will need another great performance in this matchup.
Florida Gators Preview
The Gators are looking to upset the best team in the country and have the tools to get it done. They have won their last two games after their only loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. Their recent win was a 41-39 outing over the South Carolina Gamecocks.
They will need to step it up on both sides of the ball for this matchup. They average 421.7 total yards per game, with 280.4 coming from passes. On defense, they slow teams down to 312.4 total yards, in which 187.6 come from passes.
Their scoring opportunities have been great, as they average 29.1 points per game. However, they do not have an attractive margin like the Bulldogs do, as they allow teams to score 20.0 points per game. This could be the difference in the game if they cannot defend strongly enough.
Quarterback Graham Mertz (12 TD, 2 INT) will need to have the biggest game of his career in order for them to succeed. He has put together 1,897 yards so far and has a QBR of 69.3, which ranks 40th in the nation. Despite throwing three touchdowns each in his last two games, he completed 62.5 percent of his passes in his performance against the Gamecocks.
