QBs:

  1. Carson Wentz, WAS
  2. Geno Smith, SEA

Wentz has been given yet another opportunity to revitalize his career in Washington. The Commanders may have a better offense than most anticipated before the season. Jahan Dotson is a future Pro Bowler (and an absolute add if available), and the rest of the offense is stellar too.

Geno Smith is back with vengeance. When asked about the critics who “wrote him off” after his Jets tenure, Geno responded, “they wrote me, I just never wrote back”. DK Metcalf and the Seahawks supporting cast is good. Geno is a solid start in good matchups.

RBs

  1. Jeff Wilson, SF
  2. Rex Burkhead, HOU

Jeff Wilson is meh to me. Not a standout player, and may not see more than 10 touches a game even without Elijah Mitchell. Deebo is the winner here, he is back to being as valuable as he was last year for the time being. Trey Lance limits the 49ers upside potential from a fantasy perspective.

I would only pick up Wilson if you own Mitchell, then ship them. The Niners backfield is Deebo’s home for the rest of the season.

Burkhead has been around for a very long time. He is dependable, but is not the long term answer for the Texans. As long as the Texans believe they have a shot at the playoffs we will see more Burkhead than Pierce. Great in PPR formats.

WRs

  1. Julio Jones, TB
  2. DeAndre Carter, LAC

I was watching the Buccs game and it had slipped my mind that they had acquired Julio in the offseason. I saw him and exclaimed, “how could the Buccs have a player of this size and stature and me not be aware?” I quickly realized it was the man himself, Julio Jones. With Godwin out, Julio is a WR2.

The biggest bust of week 1 may have been Mike Williams. I worried about drafting him, because I just didn’t think he was that good of a talent. He barely even played last Sunday. DeAndre Carter did and looked amazing. Any of the major targets on LAC should be scooped up. The WR2 on the Chargers will put up a 85/1200/10 stat line. It could be Carter.

TEs

  1. Albert Okwuegbunam, DEN
  2. Tyler Higbee, LAR

Russel Wilson likes his TEs. I wish it were Noah Fant he was throwing to, but it is Okwuegbunam. Jeudy’s drops are back, and Russ may lose trust in him. He was wide open on the final passing play of the game over the middle – Russel never looked his way.

Higbee is a very good tight end. He blocks well and catches passes, meaning he will be on the field all the time. Stafford may not mesh with A-Rob off the bat, and Higbee may see more action as a result. The Rams won’t suck every game of the season… hopefully.

D/ST

  1. Bengals
  2. Broncos

The Bengals are playing the Dak-attack, but with Cooper Rush at QB. I don’t think the Cowboys will suck, and I would be looking to trade for CeeDee Lamb, Dalton Schultz, and especially Zeke.

The Broncos are playing the Texans and Davis Mills. The Texans did OK in week 1, but Seattle’s D actually looked pretty good against the Broncos. Good enough to lose me my survival pool at least.
