Dallas Mavericks Preview

The Mavs recently added their second-straight win, which was a 125-120 performance over the Brooklyn Nets. Luke Doncic was brilliant once again in their success, as he dropped 49 points and shot 9-14 from the three point line to give them the edge they needed.

Luka is now averaging 41.0 points per game (league-best), 11.5 rebounds (73rd-best), and 8.5 assists (tied for 10th) each time he plays. This carries a lot of weight for their team, which will be interesting to see if he can continue to produce at such a high level.

When it comes to point differentials, the Mavs are razor-thin for how many points they win games by. They average 125.5 points a game and allow teams to average 119.5. This ranks second and 24th in the league, respectively.

The Mavs also have one of the best offensive ratings at 120.9 (second-best), as they typically score a bit more per 100 possessions with the ball. Defensively, they rank 23rd with a rating of 115.1 and allow opposing teams to hang around. They cannot afford to let the Grizzlies find a spark on offense, which they desperately need.

Memphis Grizzlies Preview

The Grizzlies faced another tough defeat recently against the Washington Wizards. In this 113-106 loss, they only scored above 30 points in one quarter and gave up as many as 37 to the Wizards.

Their season will be on alert until they get Ja Morant back in the lineup. However, throwing him back in the mix does not guarantee wins, but offers an explosion on offense. Their defense still needs to be a priority, which is something that everyone should consider improving upon.

They are averaging 104.7 points per game (23rd-best) and have an offensive rating of 101.7. This ranks 27th in the league for their efficiency per 100 possessions. Desmond Bane is leading the scoring load with 24.0 points per game and also contributes 3.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists.

The Grizzlies give up 110.7 points per game, which ranks 15th in the league. In addition, their defensive rating is at 107.6 and ranks 11th for their efforts per 100 possessions. Against a high-octane Mavs offense, they must slow down the pace of this game if they want an opportunity to win.
