This kind of separation between the averages is likely why they are second in the Central Division, as they have been able to consistently dominate. These wins were not against scrub teams either, as each win was against a fourth place ranking in their respective division opponent or better.

Overall, they are averaging 3.81 goals per contest and are led by scoring leader Mikko Rantanen with 11 goals this season. His output offensively ranks ninth in the league, which makes him a threat to teams that have difficulty in defending.

However, their defense lately has been atrocious and far exceeding their season average of 3.38 goals from opponents. They are also able to slow teams down in power play situations and that could make an impact here, as they have a penalty kill percentage at 71.2.
