Cleveland Cavaliers Preview

The Cavs know they are in trouble here and must do what they can to stay alive. This series took a turn after their recent 109-102 defeat to the Celtics in Game 4. This also marks their second consecutive loss.

Darius Garland led with 30 points and seven assists while connecting on 12 of 27 shots. Caris LeVert and Evan Mobley each contributed 19 points to help round out their offense. LeVert had a solid performance starting in place of the injured Donovan Mitchell, but both LeVert and Mitchell are listed as questionable for this game.

The Cavs shot 43 percent from the field and shot 31.3 percent from beyond the arc. Their defense was the issue, as they struggled to hold back the Celtics who scored 37 points in the first quarter. Despite cutting the lead to five at one point in the game, they were unable to make the comeback.

In this series, the Cavs are averaging 102.0 points per game. Without Mitchell in the lineup, their offense could struggle once again.

Boston Celtics Preview

The Celtics are seeking to close out this series after several commaning wins. They recently had a great performance from Jayson Tatum in Game 4 who led them the team with 33 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Jaylen Brown also made a huge impact with his 27 points on nine of 15 shooting.

The team collectively shot 48.0 percent from the field and made 37.5 percent from deep. They opened with 37 points, but gave up 30 as well, in the first quarter to take a slight lead. The biggest difference was limiting the Cavs to 21 points in the third quarter.

The Celtics have won each time they have exceeded 100 points in this series. So far, they are averaging 107.3 points each game and would have made a much better impact in Game 2 if they would have shot better from deep.

They have plenty of positive momentum coming into this matchup. They also have a healthy core roster in comparison to the Cavs, which makes them slightly have an advantage.
