Cincinnati Bengals Preview

The Bengals are currently on a three-game skid as they approach this next matchup. Their most recent defeat was a 16-10 performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite having a 7-3 at the half, they failed to produce a more consistent offense to combat whatever the Steelers threw their way.

The recent defeat has pushed them back further in the AFC North, currently in last place. A win here would not only bring them to .500, but within striking distance to still contend for the Wild Card spot.

In order to have a chance at winning, they will need to do something about their performances on both sides of the field. They rank 23rd in the league for averaging 19.3 points a game. On defense, they rank 19th in allowing 22.0 points from opposing teams.

Quarterback Jake Browning (2 TD, 1 INT) is likely the starter once again since Joe Burrow is out for the season. So far, he has accumulated 295 yards, a completion rate of 65.9 percent, and carries a QBR of 29.3.

Jacksonville Jaguars Preview

The Jaguars have won four of their last five games and are currently riding a two-game win streak. Their recent success was a close 24-21 outing over the Houston Texans, where they were able to hold onto the lead despite a strong second half from the Texans.

The recent victory over the Texans helped keep the Jaguars at the top spot in the AFC South and pushed the Texans to tie in second with the Indianapolis Colts. Another win here would greatly boost their chances at winning the division and provide more separation.

The Jaguars have been consistent throughout the season with their performances on both sides of the ball. They rank 12th in the league for putting up 23.1 points per game and 12th for allowing their opponents to average 20.5 points each game. While this is not a lot of room for error, they are better off in comparison to the Bengals.

QB Trevor Lawrence (12TD, 7 INT) is having a great season and has earned 2,746 yards. His QBR is at 61.8, ranking eighth in the league among other starting quarterbacks. He also has a completion rate at 67.3 percent of his passes.
