Chicago Bears Preview

The Bears nearly secured their first win after being up 21 against the Denver Broncos last week. However, they were unable to slow down Russell Wilson and the Broncos’ offense in the fourth for a 31-28 defeat.

Their stats have been lackluster to say the least, as they are averaging 334.3 total yards a game with 215.3 coming from passing plays. On the defensive side, they allow 387.5 total yards and give up most of that to passing plays at 272.

Their offense is led by quarterback Justin Fields, who ranked 28th in the league for a QBR of 35.7. He has put together 861 yards and seven touchdowns, but has thrown away five interceptions. He has been improving as of late, especially against the Broncos, but must not have any mistakes for them to win.

The Bears are averaging 18.8 points a game, but give up 34.3 from their opponents. They must do a better job defending if they want any chance at winning a game this season.

Washington Commanders Preview

The Commanders almost had their best win of the season against the Philadelphia Eagles, but came up short in overtime 34-31. A scoreless third quarter likely hurt their chances, as the Eagles were able to score 11 points to keep a short lead.

They do a better job on both sides of the ball in comparison to the Bears, but they still have work to do if they want to continue their success. They average 346.8 total yards on offense with 240.3 coming from passing plays. In addition, their defense allows 366.8 and have 244.3 coming from passing yards.

Sam Howell (QB) has contributed 961 yards and four touchdowns, but has five costly interceptions. His QBR is at 49.8, which ranks 19th in the league and is a bit better than Fields’ numbers. He will need a great performance for them to have a chance at winning.

The Commanders average 22.3 points per contest while giving up 30.0. This ratio is slightly better than the Bears’, but not ideal in the long run if they want to add more wins on the year.
