Chicago Bears Preview
The Bears are 3-2 in their last five appearances, with their most recent performance being a 31-26 defeat against the Detroit Lions. They were up 26-14 to start the fourth quarter, but gave up 17 points to the Lions to let it slip away.
Their recent performance against the Lions is a similar situation that has happened too many times this year. At fourth in the NFC North, they are losing the minimal chance to make a run in the division and are almost out of time.
Their offense ranks 18th in the league for 20.9 points per game. However, their defense sits at 29th in allowing 26.0 points a game from opposing offenses. This differential is huge, especially against a respectable offense from the Vikings.
Justin Fields (12 TD, 6 INT) has earned 1,370 yards and has completed 62.7 percent of his passes this season. While he has been solid for the Bears at quarterback, his QBR is at 45.0 and ranking 23rd in the league.
Minnesota Vikings Preview
After losing their first three games to start the season, the Vikings actually look like a playoff team worth mentioning. They recently had their five-game win streak snapped in a 21-20 loss to the Denver Broncos, as they allowed 12 points in the fourth quarter after smothering Russell Wilson for the first three quarters.
Where do the Vikings go from here? Their recent defeat shakes up the race for the Wild Card spot in the NFC North, as they are still second, but the Packers are within a game now. A defeat here would put the Vikings in a terrible situation that they cannot afford.
They rank 11th in the league with 23.0 points per game, which shows they have a powerful offense to compete with nearly everyone. Their defense is not the worst either, as they rank 14th for allowing 20.9 points each matchup. This game could be tighter if the Bears are able to slow down the Vikings passing game.
Currently, Joshua Dobbs (12 TD, 6 INT) has done a solid job at quarterback since Kirk Cousins has been out. He has 2,216 yards, a completion rate of 63.5, and has a QBR of 58.7 ranking him 11th in the league. Since joining the Vikings, he has gone 2-1 so far this year.
