Boston Bruins Preview

The Bruins are 2-3 over their last five matchups and are aiming to extend their winning streak. Their most recent battle was a 3-2 shootout win over the Washington Capitals, which is arguably going to be a first round matchup in the playoffs soon.

They will have their full roster in place for this matchup, with no injuries listed on the books. This means that David Pastrnak can push their offense along to its max capacity, as he currently leads with 102 points, 45 goals, and 57 assists. He currently ranks fifth in the league for both points and goals.

The Bruins are averaging 3.27 goals a game on 29.4 shot attempts. Power plays have been solid, with a percentage at 23.3 (52 goals scored, 45 allowed).

On defense, they are allowing their opponents to score 2.73 goals and take 30.8 shots a game. In comparison to their offense, they have a solid margin of victory. In addition, their penalty kill percentage stands at 82.1 and will make a positive impression on this matchup.

Nashville Predators Preview

The Predators have lost their last two games and have had issues defending. They recently fell 7-4 to the Colorado Avalanche and have allowed 15 goals total in those two losses. They must stop the bleeding here and cannot afford to allow this many points for a third straight game.

Filip Forsberg (84 PTS, 41 G) and Roman Jodi (57 AST) each lead respectively in their offensive output. They will need to continue to have outstanding performances to drive their offense in the right direction.

The Predators are on par offensively with the Bruins and average 3.27 goals on 31.7 shots a game. Their power plays have nearly been a coin flip, as they have scored 50 goals and have allowed 53 (20.5 percentage).

Their defense has obviously slipped the last few games, as they now allow on average 3.04 goals and 30.4 shots a game to opponents. If their defense continues to struggle, their penalty kill percentage will likely fall as well, which is currently at 76.3.
