Tennessee NASCAR Introduction

NASCAR has an incredible history with the state of Tennessee. The earliest races began in 1958 at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway when NASCAR made its debut in the state.

There are several prominent NASCAR drivers that are from Tennessee, either born and raised or they have called it home for a majority of their life. The top drivers include:

  • Bobby Hamilton
  • Sterling Marlin
  • Darrell Waltrip

In addition to the rich NASCAR history in Tennessee, there are two racetracks that are famous. These include Bristol Motor Speedway and the Nashville Superspeedway, which feature some of the best races on the calendar for NASCAR. There are several NASCAR series that often use tracks in Tennessee, including the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and the Truck Series.

Different Types of NASCAR Bets

NASCAR has some of the most straightforward betting options compared to other sports, so do not worry if you are new to NASCAR betting. ZenSports has you covered with Tennessee NASCAR betting, as there are plenty of betting types to consider no matter your experience.

It is wise to thoroughly examine every NASCAR betting option to enhance your wagering journey. Engaging in research and gathering ample information about a driver or team is a commendable approach to take.

Moneyline Bets

In NASCAR betting, the simplest bet is who you think will cross the finish line first after a set amount of laps. Moneylines are given to the field of drivers and are displayed with a plus (+) sign, which is similar to how golf bets shape up.

In a straight up bet to win outright (race winner), there are typically not any minus (-) moneylines. So, the favorites will have the lowest plus money amount and the others that go up are considered underdogs, or the least likely to win. Check out these drivers:

Driver A: +250

Driver B: +375

Driver C: +425

Looking at Driver A, they are projected to be the winner since they have the lowest plus money odds. For every $100 that is wagered on them, you will earn $250 plus your original stake if they do indeed win.

There are other moneyline bets to consider, with some having slightly different odds. For example:

  • Top Three or Five: Choose a driver that you think will place within the top three or five
  • Pole position: Bet on the exact driver who earns the pole before the race begins (usually a day before)
  • Lap Time: Bet on the driver that you think will have the best lap time, no matter the outcome of the race
  • Head-to-head: Simply pick the best driver out of a pair that you think will do better than the other
  • Driver vs. Group: Pick the best driver that you think is best out of a group of three or more drivers who will do the best

In the head-to-head matchup and the group bet, you will likely see one out of the two drivers have a minus moneyline. So if you see a driver that has something like -125, this means they are the favorite to win that matchup if everyone else has a positive number. If you wager $125 and they win, you will earn $100 plus your original stake.

Futures Bets

Futures bets involve placing wagers on events that are often distant in the future, as the name suggests. These bets commonly use the moneyline format for a specific outcome, making it essential to understand their correct interpretation before you finalize your predictions.

There are a handful of futures bets in NASCAR that you can make. The most common futures bet is choosing the winner of the Cup Series, or any winner for each Series, anytime before the last race ends.

Prop Bets

Proposition bets, often referred to as prop bets, encompass a range of enjoyable wagers that you can place on the race. These bets are more focused on specific events that might occur during the event rather than directly influencing the final outcome.

Prop bets will use a moneyline and you should know how to read them. There are likely an endless amount of props. These bets include, but not limited to:

  • What car manufacturer wins? (Ford, Chevy, etc.)
  • Number of crashes during the race
  • How many drivers finish?
  • Who wins the most laps?

Parlay Bets

You can enhance your betting experience significantly by incorporating parlays, which amplify your wagering potential while making the most of your bankroll. By combining a minimum of two preferred bet types onto a single betting slip, you are essentially expanding your opportunities.

If these combined bets prove successful, your reward will surpass what you would have originally received from those same individual bets. It is important to exercise caution when dealing with parlays. If any of your selected bets fail to win, the entire wager is forfeited.

However, if you manage to correctly predict all your selections, incorporating more into your betting slip can result in significantly higher payouts. This approach can be both thrilling and offer the potential for substantial profits.
