Atlanta Falcons Preview

The Falcons have gone 2-3 over their last five games and need to find consistency for a shot at the playoffs. Their most recent game was a 29-25 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where the Falcons had a strong 15-point fourth quarter but could not overcome the deficit set early in the game.

The Buccaneers, Falcons, and New Orleans Saints are all tied for first in the NFC South and wins are crucial from here on out. The Falcons have an opportunity to land an easier win, but only if their offense remains consistent.

The Falcons have put up 19.3 points per game and rank 24th in the league. Their defense ranks 12th for allowing 20.7 points per game. This margin will need to change if they want to find success and continue their playoff push.

Desmond Ridder (9 TD, 9 INT) has put up 2,376 total yards and a pass completion rate of 63.5. His QBR stands at 40.2, which puts him at 24th in the league among other starting quarterbacks.

Carolina Panthers Preview

The Panthers are aiming to snap their current six-game win streak and to take down a division rival. Their most recent defeat was a 28-6 performance against the New Orleans Saints, where the Panthers turned the ball over two times and could only achieve two field goals for points on the board.

At the bottom of the NFC South, they are obviously out of playoff range. But can they land their second win of the season and potentially build on their positives heading into next season?

It does not help that the Panthers are ranking towards the bottom end for both efforts on each side of the ball. They rank 30th for points per game at 15.2 and rank 31st for allowing 26.2. If they want any shot at winning here, they will need to control the pace of the game to keep the Falcons from landing scoring opportunities.

Bruce Young (9 TD, 9 INT) has 2,192 is getting results close to Ridder, but of course not the wins. He has a pass completion rate of 58.5 and a QBR of 29.6, ranking him 29th.
