Anaheim Ducks Preview

The Ducks were able to snap their two-game skid when they achieved a 4-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks. They put up an aggressive 44 shots to make sure they had plenty of scoring opportunities. However, this kind of volume is not sustainable every night and they will need to find ways to get more quality looks at the goal.

Their recent rebound did not move the needle much in the Pacific Division, as they are now fourth after their previous losses. Trevor Zegras is still on the injured reserve list and his timetable to return is unclear, but his absence could make a difference in this game.

If they can achieve aggressive amounts of shot attempts, they are bound to do well eventually. So far, they are averaging 3.14 goals a game and shoot off 29.8 shot attempts per matchup. This equates to roughly 9.4 shot attempts before landing a goal.

As for their opponents, they are allowing them to average 2.93 goals and 32.4 shot attempts each game. At this rate, their opponents are firing off about 11.05 shot attempts before landing a goal. This could be the biggest difference in this matchup.

Nashville Predators Preview

The Predators have lost their last three games and have done so by at least two goals or more. Their previous defeat was a 7-5 performance against the Arizona Coyotes. Surprisingly, the Coyotes scored seven goals on just 25 shot attempts and the Predators had the lead of 3-2 after the first period.

It is no surprise to see the Predators at eighth in the Central Division after their recent stumbles over the previous eight games, going 2-6 in that span. Ryan McDonagh is currently listed as day-to-day, which is another game they will likely perform without him.

In their recent losses, they have averaged 3.0 goals a game. Overall, their season averages are also at 3.00 goals a game and 30.6 shot attempts. This means they are getting a goal for every 10.2 shots taken.

Defensively, they have allowed 5.66 goals in those three losses. For the season, they have allowed their opponents to average 3.50 goals on 30.4 shot attempts. This equates to about 8.68 shot attempts from their opponents before they land a goal.
