Buffalo Bills Preview
The Bills finished 13-3 in the AFC East last year and will have nothing but an NFL Championship on their minds again this season. With essentially the same roster intact, they are the face of the division and are the team to beat this year.
They did add some depth to their offense this year. With the addition of tight end Dalton Kincaid from the draft, it gives the Bills two excellent options (including Dawson Knox). They also have the return of Damar Hamlin, so fans will be happy to see him back on the field.
Kincaid will be interesting to watch, because his position is going to be needed in this game. The Jets have a solid pass rush that will try to disrupt Josh Allen from being productive, meaning everyone will need to be aware on offense.
Allen will look to find similar opportunities through tight ends like he did in previous matchups against the Jets. In both games last season, they were decided by eight points or less.
New York Jets Preview
The Jets have a lot to look forward to this year after going 7-10 in the AFC East. With the addition of Rodgers at quarterback, they seem more upbeat than they have before.
Rodgers is not the type to just hand off the ball and wait for the game clock to run down. He came to New York to help win, so expect to see the Rodgers that fans know and love with his excellent passing.
You can make the argument that the Jets would have been a much better team if they had a better quarterback last season. Their defense was great and they even gave the Bills one of their three losses last year.
Rodgers will have a big impact, regardless if they win or lose. It may take some time for these guys to click with him, especially since they have not had a good quarterback in quite some time.
Betting Odds
Interested in NFL betting in Tennessee? ZenSports’ sportsbook has a nearly even matchup between these two teams seeking their first win of the season. However, the market slightly favors the Bills to win.
New York Jets: -108
Spread: +2.5 (-108)
Buffalo Bills: -145
Spread: -2.5 (-108)
Totals: Over 45.5 (-108), Under 45.5 (-108)
The Jets offense finished 30th in their offense for EPA per play, but should have a huge improvement with Rodgers. He does not have to be back on MVP level for them to succeed, which shows how dangerous they could be in this game and the rest of the year.
