Hey Summoners,

We hope you enjoyed our first Splinterlands tournament ever, which we hosted last weekend on July 17th, right after DYGYCON!

With 32 of the top Splinterlands players in attendance – the Kickoff Cup was a true test to determine the best Summoner in the whole Splinter-verse. So, who won?

None other than Xawi, who will take home $860 in crypto, as well as this 1/1 NFT Trophy, minted on the ICON blockchain

Xawi fell in the first round of the tournament and battled through the loser’s bracket. She eventually defeated JRVacation in the finals, 3-1.

So, what’s next?

Announcing the Gold Foil Cup Series – Chanseus Edition

Following the success of the Kickoff Cup, ZenSports will be hosting a semi-weekly tournament series, The Gold Foil Cup Series.

In the Gold Foil Cup Series, we will be host semi-weekly tournaments and award a gold foil card to the winner of each event!

Just to be clear, players can use any types of cards to compete in these events.

The first tournament in our Gold Foil Series will take place on July 31st at 5:30 PM EST, a time voted upon by players in our Discord.

The 32-player live-streamed tournament will take place on the ZenSports app, with $1000 in crypto prizes. The tournament winner will take home a Gold Foil Chanseus The Great, currently valued at $1,000.

All prize payouts are viewable on the ZenSports app. Prizes will be awarded to players once they have passed KYC verification.

The event will feature only gold cards or below. However, participants of all ranked tiers can play in the qualifier events and the Gold Foil Cup.

How To Qualify

Clove71 will host two tournaments on Splinterlands.com leading up to the event. The top 8 players from each event will automatically earn a spot in the Gold Foil Cup.

The top 16 finishers from the Kickoff Cup are also eligible to play in the event.

The official dates of these tournaments will be announced later this week on the ZenSports Discord, after the players have voted.

Following an invite from our GM of Esports, players must commit to being present for the Gold Foil Cup. Participants will then be invited to register on ZenSports for the tournament.

How To Watch

The event will be live-streamed to Twitch directly onto the ZenSports app. You can watch directly on the ZenSports app or by heading to our Twitch directly.

Every Twitch follow will add $2 to the winner’s prize pool – in addition to the gold foil card!

How to Get Started

If you are new to blockchain gaming, Splinterlands is an excellent game for you.

In Splinterlands, you collect NFT cards and head into battle. Each battle is played under different rulesets each time, making the individual contests unique.

Players can combine cards to create more powerful ones – some of which can sell on the Splinterlands Marketplace for up to $10,000!

We have often heard that Splinterlands is akin to daily fantasy football. In the wise words of Chris Roberts, Splinterlands’ Director of Content, “Splinterlands is putting the fantasy back in fantasy sports.”
