QBs:

  1. Jared Goff, DET
  2. Deshaun Watson, CLE

Jared Goff is available in 64 percent of ESPN leagues, and the Lions offense looks legit. So much so that the team is 3rd in total yards per game and 2nd in points per game. Much of their success comes from the ground game, but Goff will be in a position to put up 2+ TDs every week from here on out.

Deshaun is the only other QB I would consider picking up at this point in the season. The Browns look good with Jacoby Brissett, and will look much better with Watson. Amari Cooper is still solid, David Njoku is progressing, and their RBs are the best in the business (Nick Chubb).

RBs:

  1. Samaje Perine, CIN
  2. Khalil Herbert, CHI

Joe Mixon is an interesting player to judge in fantasy. On one hand, he touched the ball more than any other back in the league. On the other hand, he just isn’t really that good. The Bengals line is part of the problem, but Perine looked much better than Mixon in the 4th quarter last weekend. I am worried about an injury for Mixon, given his volume and the amount of times he is being tackled while surrounded by lineman. I am a Mixon owner and am looking to trade him ASAP. If Mixon gets hurt, Perine is a solid start moving forward.

David Montgomery injured both his knee and ankle on the same play, and is labeled as “day-to-day” moving forward. Khalil Herbert looked good in his absence. If you need a RB for week 4, starting Khalil Herbert is a solid idea.

WRs

  1. Romeo Doubs. GB
  2. Noah Brown, DAL

Romeo Doubs is quickly gaining credibility with Aaron Rodgers, who desperately needs a target he can trust. Doubs is a rookie, and looks like Randal Cobb did a decade ago. In deep leagues he is an immediate start, in regular formats he could quickly become one.

Noah Brown is seeing a lot of targets for the Cowboys, averaging 7 per game so far this season. He is doing well with these targets, and is seeing solid matchups every week being lined up apart from CeeDee Lamb. Noah Brown is a solid stash.

TEs

  1. David Njoku, CLE
  2. Robert Tonyan, GB

Njoku had a breakout game last weekend, posting a 9/89/1 statline. Ally and I have been talking about how Njoku must be a big part of the Browns plans, given they paid him so much money. Njoku might see more looks and become a consistent start as the season progresses.

Tonyan became a bigger part of the Green Bay offense in Week 3, catching 6 passes on 7 targets. He has yet to find the endzone, but that might happen soon. He is a solid pickup with upside potential as the season progresses.
