Hey ZenSportsians!

Last week, we closed and reviewed responses for the first of many surveys for ZenSportsian NFT holders. These surveys help us understand how we can best drive value for our NFT holders. After reviewing the survey results, it sounds like ramping up our esports tournaments and adding to our trivia nights are great places to start!

We love trivia and the way it brings us all together in Discord for some light-hearted competition and conversation. We also love our esports tournaments and the competition that they bring to blockchain gaming.

You may have also seen us unveil our new ZenSportsia Referral Bonus Program. This program allows you to earn a bonus for anyone that you refer to ZenSportsia that buys an NFT!

To that tune, we are announcing another Splinterlands esports tournament, the Splinterlands: Mint Train Games on May 28th. The tournament will feature a Base Prize Pool of $2,500 and a Bonus Prize Pool of $250 for each consecutive day that a ZenSportsian NFT is minted from May 9, 2022 until the start date of the tournament!

What is a Mint Train?

A “Mint Train” is similar to a “sub train” or “follow train” used by live streamers on Twitch or Theta. It simply rewards community members for interacting with the streamer or brand in some way on a daily basis.

ZenSportsia Mint Train Specifics

The goal of the Mint Train for ZenSportsia is for our community to mint an NFT each day of the week (including weekends). Each consecutive day that an NFT is minted, ZenSports will add $250 to the Mint Train Prize Pool for our next Splinterlands tournament. Only those players that hold a ZenSportsian NFT will be eligible to win money from the Mint Train Prize Pool.

The Mint Train will last as long as an NFT is minted on each consecutive day, starting on May 9, 2022. The Mint Train will begin each calendar day at 12:00am Eastern Time and run through 11:59pm Eastern Time. If a ZenSportsian NFT has been minted during that calendar day, the train will continue.

If an NFT has not been minted on any particular calendar day, the train will end with no new additional money added, and all previous money added to the train up until that day will then comprise the Mint Train Prize Pool.

Tournament Entries

ZenSportsian NFT owners will receive an automatic FREE entry into the tournament. If you wish to play in the tournament but do not hold a ZenSportsian NFT, you can purchase a single entry into the tournament. Entry fee for non-NFT holders for this tournament is $50, and there will be $2,500 in prize money awarded to players (see exact prize pool below) Entries can be paid for in your cryptocurrency of choice.

How to Purchase a Tournament Entry for non-NFT Holders

If you don’t hold a ZenSportsian NFT and wish to purchase an entry fee to this tournament, follow these 3 steps:

  1. Register for the tournament within the ZenSports Play app.
  2. Look out for an email from the tournament host, Jacob Shrader, with the different payment options.
  3. Pay your $50 entry fee with the currency option of your choice!

Don’t want to jump through all of the above hoops to pay for a tournament entry? Buy a ZenSportsian NFT instead and get in for free! If you play at least 9 tournaments per year, you’ll save a considerable amount of money by buying a ZenSportsian NFT. You can buy a ZenSportsian NFT here:

Mint Train Games Tournament Details

The Mint Train Games will be a Bronze League Splinterlands tournament, with a prize pool that increases each consecutive day a ZenSportsian NFT is minted.

A Bronze League tournament means that despite how much collection power a single player has, everyone will be forced to play Splinterlands at the most basic rule set possible.

This rule set allows all players to participate and compete, as the Bronze League only allows relatively low-level Summoners and monsters compared to the higher leagues in Splinterlands.

Date and Time: Saturday, May 28, 2022 @ 8:00 PM Eastern Time

Format: Bronze league, double elimination, bracket-style in the ZenSports Play mobile app

64 players maximum. ZenSportsian NFT owners automatically qualify and can register for the tournament by following the instructions below. If additional players are needed to fill the bracket, they will be picked from those who are most active in our Discord server!

Entry Fee: Free for ZenSportsian NFT holders. $50 for non-NFT holders (in your cryptocurrency of choice).

Registration: All players must register for the tournament in the ZenSports Play mobile app, and must subsequently check-in for the tournament in the ZenSports Discord server. All players will be given access to a special player-only channel as well as a specific role for the tournament.

Staking Bonus: If you want to win even more money from playing in our tournaments, make sure to check out our SPORTS Staking Rewards Program. The program rewards you for simply holding SPORTS tokens in your ZenSports account and playing in tournaments!

Prize Pools: The Base Prize Pool will be open to all players, regardless of whether they own a ZenSportsian NFT. The Mint Train Bonus Prize Pool will only be available to those who own a ZenSportsian NFT.

Base Prize Pool: (open to those players that own at least one ZenSportsian NFT or who have purchased a tournament entry)

1st place: $1,000

2nd place: $500

3rd-4th place: $250 each

5th-8th place: $125 each

Mint Train Prize Pool will be distributed proportionally and only to those players who hold a ZenSportsian NFT. First place will receive 40% of the total Mint Train Prize Pool, second place will receive 20%, etc.

**Note: ZenSportsian NFT owners will be able to win the Base Prize Pool and the Mint Train Prize Pool. Non-NFT owners will only be able to earn the Base Prize Pool.
